This poem I loved as soon as I read it. It was when I was 12.
My childhood Augusts were exactly same.
Цей вірш я полюбила одразу, як тільки прочитала, років в 12.
Саме такими і були мої дитячі серпні.

Trees are more silent.
They don’t see dreams about the summer any more.
Grandmother is making jam.
Skin of the jam is smoking on the saucer.
It’s cool and dry in the morning.
Nearing the time of harvest.
Apples fall with a dull sound,
Like night stars.

Бабушка варит варенье.
Пенка на блюдце дымится.
Утром прохладно и сухо.
Близится срок урожая.
Яблоки падают глухо,
